A few days ago I went hiking in Switzerland, one of the things which are still allowed during Quarantine, or Covid19 times. As long as one keeps the social distance everything is fine. I find that very forward-thinking, hiking keeps you fit and the fresh air and the stunning views take your mind off the situation, at least for a moment.

Take a look at the measures here:

The hike was about 4 hours up, I had to change routes once since I stood in front of a kneedeep snowfield with only my Vans and shorts, I was hiking alone and encountered maybe 5 people on the trail.

Just like I like it, alone with nature, admiring the giant Mountains and breathing cold fresh air smelling like pine trees.

The Skitown looked like a Ghosttown, everything closed, the train standing quietly in the middle.

Lovely for me to shoot in awkward poses and in random places. Just strolling around imagining how this would look like in normal times.

On my way back, a thunderstorm pulled up from behind the mountains, and just before I reached the town it started to rain. Slowly first, so I just walked relaxed, thinking it’s not going to be too bad.
Walking into the Town of Wengen, from where I started the hike, the rain just started pouring down, and I had to take shelter in front of a lovely house. Thanks, house owners for letting me use the roof 😀

Reflection, Hiking in Covid19 times Switzerland

It was an amazing experience and I am really thankful for the perfect weather so I got quite a lot of material again. You can check out the new photos here: https://mariusportmann.com/project/covid19-files/

Hope to do another one soon. I got enough time on my hands since I can’t really execute my job as a Tunnel flight Instructor, which also has its downside, I miss the flying of course and I am slowly using up my savings.

In the meantime I am doing some side work, optimizing websites, Google Ads and of course Photography. If you are interested in any of those, write me! I am happy to help.
If you enjoyed this post, I’d be very thankful if you share it with Friends and Family, or on Social Networks. Thank you!

Stay safe
